# Connect Bluesky and schedule posts safely

Create a Bluesky app password, connect securely, and schedule text, images, and threads with current 300-character and four-image limits.

**In short:** use a dedicated Bluesky app password for a management tool, never the primary account password. Naasher exchanges it for AT Protocol session tokens and uses those tokens to create post records.

Create an app password in Bluesky settings and label it clearly. In Naasher enter the service URL—normally `https://bsky.social`—your handle or identifier, and the app password.

Bluesky explains session creation and records in its [creating a post tutorial](https://docs.bsky.app/docs/tutorials/creating-a-post). A post is an `app.bsky.feed.post` record; images are uploaded as blobs before they are embedded.

## Current limits

- 300 characters per post.
- Up to four images with independent alt text.
- Threads and replies.
- No video or polls in the current Naasher integration.

For a thread, Naasher creates the first record, stores its URI and CID, and uses those references for the following reply. This preserves the graph relationship rather than merely publishing adjacent text.

Create a separate app password for every tool. If one is exposed, revoke only that credential, delete the connection, and create a replacement. Measure replies and reposts over several weeks, not a single launch post.

Should I use my main Bluesky password?

No. Create a dedicated app password in Bluesky settings. It can be revoked without changing the primary account password.

What does Naasher currently publish to Bluesky?

Text up to 300 characters, up to four images with alt text, threads, and replies. Video publishing is not enabled in the current integration.

What happens when the access session expires?

Naasher uses the refresh session token to obtain a new short-lived access token. Reconnect if you revoke the app password or session.
